Collierville's greenbelt runs 18.58 miles between parks, schools and shops. Where to park, the park loops, the Johnson Park boardwalk and new e-bike rules.

The Collierville Greenbelt System has 18.58 miles of trails and connectors, built to link neighborhoods, parks, schools and shopping so people can walk or bike instead of drive, the town says. Most walks start at a park with parking and restrooms, such as H.W. Cox Park or W.C. Johnson Park. Two things to know this fall: the town adopted new e-bike rules on Oct. 12, 2026, and the Johnson Park boardwalk has been closed for rebuilding.

Powell Road, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or the Depot Visitors Center, 125 N. Rowlett St., on the Town Square. The town posts the system’s total length but not each segment’s distance, so use the map to plan a loop.

QR Fit Trail at H.W. Cox Park

The town says Cox Park’s QR Fit Trail was the first in Tennessee. Six signs sit in a loop on the greenbelt exercise trail around the park. Scan a code with your phone for a video of a trainer demonstrating core, flexibility, lower-body or upper-body exercises at beginner, intermediate or advanced level, then walk on to the next sign.

Johnson Park boardwalk

The town closed the entire Johnson Park boardwalk on June 15, 2026, to replace its oldest section: a 1,000-foot stretch built in 2000 that runs from the Nature Center trailhead to the overlook gazebo. A newer section from 2007 stays. Nabholz Construction’s contract allowed 110 days, to Oct. 3, 2026. Signs on the connecting primitive trail mark the closure; call 901-457-2770 to confirm the boardwalk has reopened.

E-bikes and scooters

The Board of Mayor and Aldermen adopted Ordinance 2026-03 on Monday, Oct. 12, 2026, and it took effect immediately. It sets rules for e-bikes and other micromobility devices on streets, sidewalks and greenbelt paths. The town notes Class 1 and 2 e-bikes assist up to 20 mph and Class 3 up to 28 mph, and says the risk is greatest on paths shared with walkers and joggers. Town staff will publish guidance on where each type of device may be ridden; until then, ride slowly around people on foot. Police and Collierville Schools will run an education campaign aimed at riders ages 12 to 17.

Closures and detours

  • Halle Park: part of the park around the Burch Library is fenced off during the library expansion, with completion scheduled for spring 2028. Stay outside the fences.
  • Wolf River: the Tennessee Department of Transportation has closed Collierville-Arlington Road (State Route 205) over the Wolf River for bridge replacement until fall 2027, so plan your route to trailheads north of town around the detour.

Indoors

The Collierville Fitness Center, 440 W. Powell Road, has a walking track around the second floor of the gym, for members.

Etiquette

Keep right, pass on the left and give a warning before you pass. Dogs must be leashed on the greenbelt; see dog-friendly Collierville.
