Fireworks at home

Collierville’s town code makes it unlawful to fire or light fireworks on the streets or on open lots near any business or home in town, and bans selling fireworks other than sparklers, toy pistols, caps and similar items made for indoor use. Outdoor displays need approval from the Board of Mayor and Aldermen and permits from the state and the Collierville Fire Marshal; the rules are on the fire department’s codes and ordinances page. New Year’s Day, Jan. 1, 2027

  • Trash: the town’s holiday schedule lists New Year’s Day 2027 among the holidays that do not affect trash, recycling and yard waste collection. Friday routes run as normal.
  • Burch Library: closed.
  • Schools: Collierville Schools’ winter break runs to Jan. 3; students return Wednesday, Jan. 6.
